The Notebook Sisters Wonderland Tag Party

Happy blog birthday to those Smushy Notebookers. It's been three years since they started blogging about the Jabberwocky poem, super snarky reviews and changing book covers in order to educate the masses. Little do many know, I'm an honorary Smushy Sister. The older, less funny one. To celebrate their cake infested Wonderland party, they've come up with their own book tag. Head over to their post and join in on the festivities.

Just Alice

What book cover has made you super curious?

Mad Hatter

List the craziest character you've ever read.
Boy, from Man Made Boy. Not exactly crazy, but unique.

Red Queen, Off With Your Head!

What book have you felt like beheading?
Hush Hush. My goodness, I hated that book passionately.

White Rabbit

What books or series have been insanely popular but you've been 'late' to pick them up?
Vampire Academy. Enjoyed book one, but still haven't moved on with the remaining books in the series. I blame the film.

Caterpillar

What's the most confusing book you've read?
Stolen: A Letter to my Captor. It left me bewildered and so mentally drained.

Dormouse

What was the last book that sent you to sleep?
The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender. I couldn't get past all the he said, she said historical references in the first few chapters.

Cheshire Cat

Book that made you laugh and smile?
The Year Nick McGowan Came To Stay. I peed a little reading it.

Knave of Hearts

Most recent character who stole your heart?

Jabberwocky

Best villain you've read this year?
Jack, from The Last Trilogy. He's one of those characters that lure you into a love hate relationship.

Down the Rabbit Hole

What's the latest book / series / author that's completely swallowed your interest?
The Splintered series. It's reignited my love of all things Wonderland, especially with the cover being revealed for Ensnared.

  1. I love Splintered! It's definitely a personal favorite. And it does have a way of making you love Wonderland even if it changes things up a little. :P

    1. Me too! It really reignited my love of the original as well.

  2. Dude, that is unfair. You've made a better banner then I EVER will. Look at that awesomeness. (My picmonkey skills hate me right now.) XD LOL.
Okay! Onwards! You and me BOTH for Stolen. x) Whaaaat...I couldn't decide whether I thought it was good or just weird. I mostly complained though, at how the heat didn't seem hot enough. I mean, come on! Oz outback! Living in a tin shed? How about death...particularly when the girl was English.
I'm very glad Splintered made your list too. ;)
BUT THANKS FOR LINKING UP WITH US. *smushes cake over your blog* We're still toddler age. We can still smush cake.

    1. But... But... I made it as a happy bloggy birthday.

I loved Stolen, but I cried at the end, I was so mentally drained and could only put it down to having Stockholm by association.

*licks cake off blogs walls* Waste not want not and all that jazz.

  3. These are great answers! Stolen is in my TBR but it's overdue and I think I might just take it back :/

I'm also late with Vampire Academy. Finished the first last week and still have to read the rest!.

Dante stole my heart as well <3 that books is just...just...incredible.

    1. Stolen really is phenomenal Em, it's one of those books that I think everyone should read. Definitely try to extend your borrowing period or take it out again, it's so worth it.

  4. Gosh the cover for TWC is gorgeous and I promise I'll pick it up soon. JUST DONT HURT ME before I do .-.

I didn't like Hush Hush either although, admittedly, I liked the first book, but as I read the sequels (I never read the last book though) I started to dislike it with a passion.

YOU NEED TO CONTINUE THE VAMPIRE DIARIES SERIES KELLY! Like drop everything and continue it because yeah!

Crap I am worried about The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavenders because I have the book and I was pretty excited about it too .-. I hope it works out better for me.

Also I totally loved Ari more than Dante .-. I connected more with Ari .-.

And don't hurt me but I still haven't picked up Splintered. It's been on my TBR list since forever but I haven't picked it up yet. .-.

    1. Good grief Rashika, you make me sound like I go on violent rampages hurling books at bloggers. I really only feel the need to throw them on occasion, so you're safe... For now *manically laughs*

I think Dante came across as a gentle soul that couldn't help fall in love with. He was just so beautifully honest and carefree. Thanks for stopping by Rashika.

  5. Ooooh, I've been on a lookout for awesome villains. Jack from The Last Trilogy definitely got me interested. Is he one of those complex ones, a character with layers and layers of depth? Will check this out if this is so! ^^ And wow, The Notebook Sisters have been around THAT long? Such a milestone, indeed!

    1. I know, I had no idea they'd been blogging so long. But boy, what a way to celebrate!

Jack is one of those evil villains that feigns being a good guy. He's really intelligent and manipulative. He reminds me a little of Warner from the Shatter Me series, but much more crafty.

  6. Ohhh, this looked like a tough one! Still need to read Splintered..... *don't hate me!!!!!* The book I would definitely want to behead is Side Effects May Vary. I didn't even have to think about that one! haha brilliant choices lovely!

  8. Yes! The cover of The Winner's Curse is definitely intriguing and beautiful, isn't it? :D

I haven't read Hush, Hush because of the less-than-stellar reviews it has gotten from other bloggers, and from what you've said it sounds like I made the right choice! I'll have to go find your review and see what you disliked about it.

*whispers* I haven't read the Vampire Diaries series AT ALL! At least you've read Book 1 - LOL! *

I agree. Stolen was wonderful, but it was definitely emotionally draining. Even though I loved it so much, I'm not even sure I would ever reread it because of how distraught I was upon finishing it!

Thanks for sharing your answers! <3

    1. It's stunning! Even though they couldn't be more different, the cover and general feeling of it reminds me of These Broken Stars. probably because I loved them both passionately.

*whispers back* The Vampire Academy series isn't going anywhere, you're safe to leave it go for a while longer. And totally agree, I couldn't put myself through Stolen again. I loved it, but it was so draining.

  9. I will be reading Aristotle as soon as it comes into my door, I am so excited to read it! Please continue with the VA series, seriously the friendship between Rose and Lissa is totally worth it. I still need to read Splintered and The Winner's Curse, but you know so many books!

  10. What an awesome tag! I'd love to do this, too, but I'm too lazy right now. I love love Wonderland, though! And Splintered! Loved that series, and can't wait for Ensnared!

  11. I loved Stolen. I'm not sure if I found the story itself confusing, though my thoughts after I'd finished were a bit confused. Are we supposed to like Ty, hate him, feel sorry for him...?

  12. Omgggggggg I love the banner you made for this tag!!! IT'S SO GREAT AND PINK AND CHESHIRE CAT-Y.

The Winner's Curse has such an intriguing cover! The Kindle version is fairly cheap on Amazon UK right now so I finally gave in and bought it. Can't wait to read it and see if it lives up to the hype!

Oh no, The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender sent you to sleep? Sigh, I liked that book, for the most part, but in the end I was actually quite disappointed by it. I really loved the writing style though.

Seriously, so much love for Splintered in this blog tag, it seems! I have to admit I had barely heard about this series until now... I must check it out now though! It looks fantastic.

Here's my tea party blog tag!
