The Book Blogger Test

Welcome to The Book Blogger Test. With thanks to Gina from Behind The Pages for tagging me.
The rules are simple: Answer the questions truthfully and then tag five other bloggers.

Questions

●  What are your top three book pet hates?
Folding a page over to keep your place, long and drawn out storylines that could be wrapped up in half the time and instant love.

●  Describe your perfect reading spot.
In bed on a cold winter's night.

●  Tell us three book confessions.
I frequently purchase books based on cover lust without delving too much into the storyline, I loathe cracked spines and never bend my covers back until the spine splits, and that I often pick two books to read at the same time but always change the second book for another title based on what I thought about my last read.

●  When was the last time you cried during a book?
Rarely does a book reduce me to tears, but the last book I can remember crying over was Chasing Nikki. I didn't expect I'd even enjoy it, and ended up crying, ugly crying scare the dog kind of crying.

●  How many books are on your bedside table?
Just one, a hardcover review copy of The Treatment. Really enjoying it so far. My Fire HD is also there, if I'm not using it to read, I use it to Tweet and reply to blog comments.

●  What is your favourite snack whilst your reading?
I don't tend to snack while reading, but occasionally M & M's if the mood takes me.

●  Name three books you would recommend to everyone.
The entire Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi, the Splintered series by A. G Howard and both These Broken Stars and now The Winner's Curse.

●  Show us a picture of your favourite bookshelf on your bookcase.
I have five bookcases, the main one being a huge timber monstrosity in my main living room. But this is a small case that will make up my home library in the study we're creating.

●  Write how much books mean to you in just three words.
Escapism from life.

●  What is your biggest reading secret?
I hated Cinder. I mean, I really, really hated it. I know so many readers love the series but me? I couldn't move past that she was some form of robot Pinocchio. I mean come on, that's just stupid.

  2. Ohhh I'M TEMPTED TO DO THIS. I'm going to glare at my blogging schedule and see if I can squeeze it in books: um, BOOKS. Love books. I'm concerned that minimal food was mentioned in this post, though. DON'T WORRY. I'll fix that. M&Ms rock while reading. But also: anything. Just not lasagna. If you get sauce on the pages and then, you know, lend it out...eh. Bit of explaining to do about murders and psychopaths and stuff. But you know. All in a days bookish life.

    1. How do you turn the pages while eating a delicious pasta dish? I do read sometimes during dinner (horrible habit really), but sometimes you just can't put that book down.

Go on, do it. It'll only take you fifteen minutes. I'll even dangle a block of Cadbury in front of you for motivation.

    1. No hurry Laura, whenever you get around to it. I think we probably all see reading as a form of escapism, that's why I read young adult. It's so easy to pick up and put down and rarely keeps me awake at night. It's a great way to escape being a responsible adult for a few hours.

Can't wait to see what you come up with.
