Scan ARC Paperback Aussie Giveaway

Thanks to Putnam, I'm giving away an ARC paperback copy of Scan, the brilliant new series by author S. E Fine and Walter Jury (who produced the Divergent movie). This ARC paperback is not yet available in Australia, but I've got an extra copy to giveaway to one lucky Australian resident.
Tate and his father don’t exactly get along. As Tate sees it, his father has unreasonably high expectations for Tate to be the best, at everything. Tate finally learns what he’s being prepared for when he steals one of his dad’s odd tech inventions and mercenaries ambush the school, killing his father in the process and sending Tate on the run from aliens who look just like humans.

Even with all he knows like how to defend himself with useful tools made out of bubblegum, Tate fears he’s still inadequate. With the help of his girlfriend and estranged mother, all Tate can really do is keep moving and ensure his father’s invention stays out of the hands of his pursuers and that his father didn’t die in vain. A riveting, fast-paced adventure, Scan is a clever alien thriller with muscle and heart.
See my review of Scan here, and good luck to everyone who enters.

  1. Wow, this book sounds really interesting. I'm actually writing my own book at the moment with aliens in it who look like human but with two distinct differences - which I can't really share right now.

Thanks so much for the giveaway :)

    1. Sounds really intriguing. There aren't too many young adult novels out with aliens, apart from Scan, the only popular ones seem to be the Lux series, and that one has finished up I believe (I haven't read the last book as yet). Thanks for entering.

  2. There is the I Am Number Four Series as well. I haven't read any of the Lux series as yet but I've been wanting to since the first book was released.

    1. I've got the first book in the I Am Number Four series actually, I forgot all about that one. Will have to get around to reading it soon.

  3. I kind of imagine aliens to look like humans but a little more perfect. Like they're all perfectly good looking and there's nothing wrong with them. But I also imagine them to be really unemotional, as well. Kind of like perfect looking robots. But not robotic >.<

    1. Like clones almost. They'd be attractive with no personality. Super creepy.

  4. Sounds fantastic, thanks for the awesome giveaway! I imagine aliens to be something that we don't even imagine that exists, maybe some highly technological human race will look like crystal shards or megatron and some other more indigenous races will look like animals.

    1. You may be onto something with the crystal theory. Have you ever heard about the crystal skulls found? It's supposed to be legitimate, sounds a little like an Indiana Jones movie to me. I'm not sure if it's scary or comforting to think there is something out there besides us.

  5. Oh, I've wanted to read this one for ages! I guess I think of aliens as looking either like Thor from the Avengers (hehe...not a bad alien look) or the kids from Race to Witch Mountain. Yup. I'm original. XD
