Stacking The Shelves and Weekly Wrap #014

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical stores or online bookshops, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course eBooks. Hosted by Tyngas Reviews.

    1. Thanks Laura. I read Halo quite a while ago, but I love to support Aussie authors so will give the series another go. I'm hoping I can appreciate it a little more this time.

  2. Great haul! =D You're so lucky to be able to see Vampire Academy. I'm a huge fan of the series but haven't seen the movie yet. I'm not sure if I'm gonna go.
Also the Halo series is amazing though I haven't read the last book yet. I did adore Halo and Heaven. It's my favorite angel series (and I usually dislike angel books) =D

    Happy Reading!

    1. I've had trouble finding a cinema around my area that's actually showing it, looks like I'll have to travel to find one. You can always wait until it's released on DVD or Blu Ray, usually it doesn't take long. Thanks for popping by Stephanie.

  3. Nice haul this week! I hate to admit the only book I've heard of from your list is Vampire Academy. But I loved that series (even though I think I like Bloodlines more) and the movie was rather enjoyable too.

    Happy reading!

    1. I bought the first book in the Bloodlines series yesterday, having not read the series either. But in which order should they be read? Vampire Academy series first, or can they be read as one of each? Not sure what the connection between both series are.

  4. Glad to hear that you are supporting Aussie authors lovely! I received quite a few of those books this week too, I'll be posting up the haul tomorrow. You are SO lucky for winning the VA movie pass, have you seen it yet? Hopefully I'll get the chance to get it soon!

    1. I haven't been able to see it yet Jeann, was looking at going today, but I can't find a cinema in my vicinity that is showing it. Luckily tomorrow being a public holiday, the other half and I might head down to the bigger shopping centers and catch a session. Looking forward to seeing it.

  7. Nice haul! I've seen the Dangerous book around. I tried to get one at ALA but they were out of them. I hope to be able to read it at some time. Enjoy your books and thanks for stopping by The Cover Contessa!

  11. I have Enmity! I just need to get around to reading it...heh. OH and when you get the matching spandex outfits and capes, I think (as your loyal minions) we deserve photos. Just putting it out there. But Take Back the Skies is written by a 19-year-old? Eeee, I need that!

    1. No one should need to see me at my age dressing like a superhero. I'll look like a deranged weirdo who enjoys wearing undies on the outsides of my tights. Give me another twenty or so years, and I may start doing that anyway.

I'm planning on starting Enmity soon as part of the Harlequin book promotion. Can't wait to see what you think of it, your reviews are always hilarious. Just between us, The Notebook Sisters is in my top three blogs.

  12. Yay for Australian authors! And you got a bunch of books for review - they all look great! Happy reading :) I won the second Looking for JJ book from HotKeyBooks, but haven't read the first one yet.

    1. Hey Emily,
I hadn't heard of Looking for JJ until this one arrived on my doorstep, but it looks like an entertaining read. Is it more middle school than young adult?

Last week I was spoilt after not receiving anything last week.
      Thanks for stopping by.

  13. Enmity has a really nice cover. Ooh, I hope you enjoy the Vampire Academy movie. I thought it was hilarious (in both good and bad ways), but it was a fun watch.

Halo, Hades and Haven probably look amazing together--sadly, I couldn't get past the first book. 0.0

    1. Aimee, I couldn't either. But they were part of a huge haul I bought, so I would love to give them another go. There aren't many good angel books around sadly.

  15. I love the sound of Take Back the Skies - in no small part due to that great title. I've also got an ARC of Dangerous, but I'm not quite as enthused as I was initially to read it, due to some of the reviews. I'm hoping it will work out, though. Happy reading!

    1. It still sounds awesome despite the early reviews though. I've actually read a few lately that haven't fared well with readers, but I really enjoyed them. Fingers crossed this is just another case of overly fussy readers.

  16. The Halo covers are so pretty. I hope you enjoy. I've been seeing Take Back the Skies a good amount but I've actually not heard of it prior so now I'm super interested. I am curious to see what you think of Dangerous.

    1. Aren't they just! They're worth it just to have sitting there... And perhaps occasionally stroking the cover. Having a fluffy cat on your lap and a maniacal laugh aren't compulsory though.

  17. Unfortunately, I'm broke after our thesis. So no goodies for now. Always wanted to read the Halo series. Hope you like them :D

    1. The life of a booklover can certainly be an expensive one Julianne. A great idea is to check out blogs, as most of us give away goodies on a regular basis. Or if you're a reviewer, register on sites like Netgalley. All you need is an eReader.
