Cover Reveal: STRAY by Rachael Craw

It’s hard to remember hating anything as much as I hate Affinity; a bone-deep loathing for the faceless unknown and the concrete walls of my own DNA.

Evie is a Shield: designed to kill in order to protect, and the Affinity Project have finally come for her. But Evie isn’t ready for the sinister organisation to take control of her life, her body, her mind. She isn’t ready to follow their rules about who may live and who must die – not when it condemns the innocent. She has one option: risk losing everything and everyone – including Jamie – and run.

Stray will be released 1 September, 2015 in bookstores in Australia and New Zealand, and online retailers.
COVER REVEAL

ABOUT RACHAEL CRAW
Rachael Craw studied Classical Studies and Drama at the University of Canterbury, but became an English teacher after graduation. Working with teenagers has given her a natural bent towards Young Adult fiction and a desire to present a feisty female protagonist in her writing.
Her debut novel, Spark, is the first in a series released with Walker Books Australia from 2014. Rachael was born and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand, and currently lives in Nelson with her husband and three daughters.

SPARK IS OUT NOW!
"You think God has a loophole for people who don’t have a choice?"
Jamie shrugs.
"Hope so, otherwise we’re screwed."

One day she’s an ordinary seventeen year old, grieving for her mother. The next, she’s a Shield, the result of a decades-old experiment gone wrong, bound by DNA to defend her best friend from an unknown killer.

The threat could come at home, at school, anywhere. All Evie knows is that it will be a fight to the death.

And then there’s Jamie. irresistible. off limits.
Thank you to Walker Books Australia, Claire Smith and the always fabulous Rachael Craw

    1. Isn't it just! I loved Spark and now eagerly awaiting Stray to be released in September. The only other think I can liken it to would be X Men meets Vampire Academy. Intense romance, the training, but the characters are incredible and the storyline is absolutely brilliant. This is one of the few books that most of the Aussie bloggers all agree on.

    1. Spark was incredible Lauren, so I'm expecting to absolutely fall in love with Stray as well. The concept is a bit of X Men meets Vampire Academy without the vampires. Same intense slow burn romance. I think you'll absolutely love this Lauren!

  7. This is the third time I've seen the cover reveal of this book and I must say that I just love how simple it is yet it is still striking. The red really gives out the violent vibe - you just know there's going to be tension and war and passion or something. I wish more volumes were more symbolic like this!

    1. It's the perfect cover series for an intense science fiction romance fusion really. Seeing it on screen really doesn't do it justice though. I think most covers seem to be pretty just for the sake of being eye catching, but the covers really do represent how intense the series is. It's amazing AND available on Amazon for international readers too.

  9. Eeek.. that cover though o.O It's striking yet super creepy at the same time. I've never seen a cover similar to this one before. I feel there is going to be some kind of brutality in this novel, thank you for sharing :) <3 Benish | Feminist Reflections

    1. They're really unique aren't they and seeing them on a screen really doesn't do they justice. No so much brutality, but intensity and the superhero powers aspect is awesome. I loved Spark and now eagerly awaiting Stray. Hurry up September!
