Expected Publication Late 2015
Anastasia Avignon has always known she was a witch. It’s only now that mysterious shadows have begun chasing her that things have started getting weird. Yes, weird even for a witch. For the sake of her safety, Anastasia has been taken to the Blackthorne Estate, run by Lady Mirabelle Brackens, a friend of her mother’s who she’s never heard of before. There, she meets Warren Brackens and Dara Robbins. But there's something curious about them. They seem to have access to more power than is normal for any witch... And she’s burning to find out why. When Anastasia begins displaying unnatural powers of her own, it only fuels her desire to find out more. As a long forgotten curse is revealed, Anastasia finds herself in a tangled web of whispers from the past.Like many other events in history, fear and shame have concealed the truth behind the fate of the last royal family. So why is it that now, centuries after their defeat, Anastasia is seeing their history everywhere? Why has she suddenly become the target of the one who destroyed them all those years ago?Anastasia is convinced that Warren and Dara have the answers to her questions, but is the price of their knowledge worth paying? Now she is being hunted, Anastasia must learn to trust in her own abilities and follow her instincts. But is Anastasia on a path predestined for her, or does she have the power to shape her own?
If Millicent isn’t curled up in a dark corner with her laptop, sketch book, or reading a novel, you’ll probably find her out roaming local parks and gardens with her camera. She lives in Melbourne, Australia, and will argue that it is the best Australian city until she’s blue in the face!
Thank you so much for sharing this and being a part of my cover reveal! :D ♥
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome poppet. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of the big unveiling of your book baby. Can't wait to grab a copy.
DeleteThanks for sharing! I like how the book literally sparks, and I do like books about witches.

Me too Lauren and I absolutely love the cover. Milly is one of our Aussie young adult bloggers, so I hope you can support her once The Last King is released, I can't wait to grab a copy too!
DeleteOh wow - this sounds really intriguing. I usually try and stay away from books about witches and wizards (because HARRY POTTER), but I might give this one a try. Thanks for showcasing the cover and putting this under my radar Kelly!
ReplyDeleteI've read a few fantastic wizardry based young adult and middle grade, and usually tend to enjoy most of them overall too. I can understand the comparisons though. I can't wait for The Last King, especially being published by one of our own Aussie bloggers too.
DeleteThis sounds like a promising read! I don't usually read a lot of fantasy, but since it is by a fellow Aussie blogger *and* sounds amazing already, well...I'm sold. Thanks for sharing Kelly :)
ReplyDeleteI don't either Eugenia, but this one sounds too delicious to pass up. I love the premise and looking forward to supporting Milly with her debut novel. Can't wait!
DeleteNot too fond of the fonts personally, but the image is gorgeous and absolutely intriguing. The synopsis isn't too shabby either--I might add this to my TBR. :)
ReplyDeleteI quite like them against the black, I think if the designer had of gone for a more decorative font, it might have gotten lost within the cover. Yes! Please add it Aimee, Milly is one of our Aussie bloggers and would absolutely love the support.
DeleteSo I'm not sure if my last comment posted or not because my internet might've dropped out for a moment. But here it is again if you missed it.
ReplyDeleteThis one is definitely intrigued--I mean, as a fantasy-lover I was bound to pick this one up sooner or later, but that cover is gorgeous. xD Plus, and Aussie writer? Yep. I'm in.
Milly is one of our own, so naturally we'll all be supporting her. But I think she's produced a winner here. And we know any romance is going to be epic, with all the swooning that Milly does. I can't wait until it's released to grab a copy, it sounds incredible!
DeleteWhat an intriguing cover, I'm curious about the triangular shape though; I can't help but think of the Eye of Providence ha ha! The premise sounds interesting too! Will you be reading it?
ReplyDeleteI certainly will be Claudia, I'm really looking forward to it. Milly is actually one of our Aussie bloggers, so we'll all be out in support for her debut novel. Hopefully you can join us and grab a copy upon release. I'd love to see what you think of it too.
