Catching Fire: The Official Illustrated Movie Companion

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a Victor's Tour of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games, known as The Quarter Quell, a competition that could change Panem forever.

Now that you've seen Catching Fire, go behind the scenes of the making of Catching Fire with exclusive materials, including back stage photos and interviews. From the screenwriting process to the casting decisions, from the fantastic new sets and gorgeous costumes to the actors' performances and the director's vision, this is the definitive companion to the second Hunger Games film.

This glossy magazine style companion is simply gorgeous. It discusses in depth from the release of The Hunger Games being an instant sensation, the characters of Katniss, Peeta and Gale now being household names. The story of a girl who volunteered as tribute, in order to save her sister Primrose in what would have been her eventual death. In a world where those that live in Capitol are indulging in luxurious parties, lavish fashions and an abundance of possessions, those who live within the districts barely have enough to survive. Katniss is the heroine of the young adult genre and whether your waiting to see Catching Fire in cinemas or want to relive the costumes, the tender moments or the beginning of a rebellion that launched a genre, you need the official movie companion.

If you are yet to see the film, the cinematic are simply stunning. The Official Movie Companion offers beautiful high definition images from the Victory Tour, The Quarter Quell and the outlandish fashions of the Capitol. The new arena is incredible, having been shot between Atlanta and Hawaii, to create a realistic tropical environment. How the Cornucopia was inspired by an abandoned Soviet monument, and how the stunning visuals came to be. It's a brilliant insight into the incredible franchise that fans will enjoy over and over again.

Thank you to Scholastic Australia for sending me this incredible keepsake.

    1. It's awesome Dre, you won't be disappointed. I read through it just before going to see the movie, and then the day after, and now I'm desperate for Catching Fire to be released on Blu Ray and it's still in cinemas. It'll soften the long wait to be able to browse through it again and again.

  2. Waaaaant. ;) I definitely think I need this. To remind me, you know, of the pain of having to wait soooo many months before the movie comes out on DVD and I can relive the wonders/horrors (they ended with the right cliffhanger...but it still kills!)

    1. The glossy pages are incredible Cait, it's reliving the movie all over again.
The facial expressions of Katniss as it ended were too funny, I may have been the only one laughing though.
