It's that time of year again, my birthday. When you get to my age, it's more about trying not to age rather than celebrating. So this is where you come in. For my fellow Aussie readers, our lovely Australian publishers have donated presents for you to win. That way, I won't turn thirty five. Pretty sure that's how it works.
With thanks to the wonderful Walker Books, Bloomsbury, Simon & Schuster, Hachette, Allen & Unwin and Thames & Hudson, there are four prize packs to be won. First prize is an enormous book pack. Five MASSIVE kilograms of books. What's in the pack is part of the birthday surprise, but I will give you a few clues. It includes a coloured Queen, a society called Gladers, a crime solving blonde, one of my favourite and funniest books of last year, zombies, a dark journey to Wonderland, Cassandra Clare and more.
Prize pack two contains the ultimate kick ass heroine and a new favourite of mine, the Throne of Glass series. Not only will the winner of this prize pack receive all three books, but Bloomsbury Australia also want you to win an exclusive tote bag.
Prize pack three contains a 'blind date with YA' book pack of surprises, with thanks to the fabulous Simon & Schuster.

Thanks for celebrating your birthday with us in such an amazing way! Sharing the book love is the best.
My ideal birthday present would obviously be books :D
Thanks Jaz and good luck with the giveaway!
DeleteHappy Birthday! And what a fantastic giveaway! Good luck to everyone. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy. It really is isn't it. Thanks to all the Aussie publishers who donated, and a few bookshop bargains I picked up to contribute as well.
DeleteOMG, IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY. But it's not your birthday here because it's still the 11th so I don't know if I want to wish you a happy birthday now.. or later...
ReplyDeleteOh whatever.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU SILLY BILLY FABULOUS SUPERHERO YOU.
Look at you, all grown up. Now you can begin your deaging(??) process. YOU CAN ONLY GET YOUNGER FROM HERE.
Also it's nice that you're offering all these wonderful prices to your lovely aussies. I am just going to hop on a plane on move there so I can join in ;)
I hope you have a GREAT birthday, hon <3 And hopefully, your husband will treat you with A LOT of books :D
Rashika @ The Social Potato
Deaging is totally a thing. For the last few years I've been deaging, fabulous stuff. Yes, yes, you should migrate. We don't have any Rashika's here. We need one. You shall be our mascot.
Deleteand cake... I FORGOT ABOUT THE CAKE.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have any cake. I had a Chocolate Bavarian, so kind of close.
Delete*cries* I'm not Australian. :( However, these prize packs sound fabulous, and I think I can guess some of the books.
ReplyDeleteI think I should have made the clues a little more difficult Ana.
DeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY! It's so amazing that the publishers have donated all these books to celebrate your special day. I hope you have a wonderful time, and I'm sure that by reading YA you're definitely keeping yourself young anyway ;)
ReplyDeleteAs for the ultimate birthday present? If someone could renovate a dedicated library room in my house, that would be pretty awesome!
Thanks poppet.
DeleteBut which room would you convert? Would you need to kick out a sibling, Survivor style?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hey it's time to party (and what a way to party! Books, yes please!). Fingers crossed you won't turn thirty five (which is pretty young, y'know). :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Mawa. I'm starting to feel my age now. Before you know it, I'll be chasing you youngsters around shouting and waving my walking stick around.
DeleteHappy Birthday, Kelly! I'm not from Australia, so I can't enter, but that's alright...best of luck to everyone that is. I hope you had a fantastic day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lauren, I certainly did. Spent the day with hubby in the garden. It was lovely.
DeleteHappy Birthday! May you be given many books (which are really the ultimate birthday present, aren't they?)
ReplyDeleteThanks poppet. They certainly are Elspeth, the only problem is for those buying the books for us, we already own everything!
DeleteUltimate birthday gift would be a wonderful holiday with my family, some great food and time to create - is that too much to ask? How about a bunch of awesome free books :o) Happy Birthday to you - I'm 2 years on the other side of not 35 and it's pretty great :o) x
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is Miriam. I must admit, I've been really blessed. Lovely husband, lovely home and a little dog that sleeps on the end of my bed, keeping my feet warm. Just need a kiddie or two now.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and good luck with the giveaway!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I wish you many more books in the future! The ultimate birthday present: Belle's library from Beauty and the Beast - wanted it ever since I was a child! The Beast sure knows how to win us booknerds over!
ReplyDeleteThanks Stephanie. That's one hell of a wishlist! I might ask for that next year. Don't like my chances though. Good luck!
DeleteHappy Birthday Kelly :-) Don't stress, you're only as old as you feel. I hope you have an awesome birthday :-0 :-P :-) :-)
ReplyDeleteAfter all the gardening I'm doing lately, I'm feeling pretty ancient actually. Thanks Sarah, I certainly did.
DeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY!! My most amazing gift to you would be the secret of eternal youth (though I'm sure you look fabulous anyway). I'm 20 and keep getting mistaken for someone in high school XD If you didn't want that secret, then I could always share some secrets to my awesomeness. Or build a library.
ReplyDeleteThanks poppet.
DeleteOh, eternal youth! Nowadays, it comes in a little jar with a hefty price tag. Yes, yes! Share! What IS the secret of being so awesome?
Happy birthdaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! Hope it is/was fabulous and filled with books. I never get books for my birthday/Christmas, and then people are all "God, you're so hard to buy for". Uh, NO. BOOKS. BUY ME BOOKS. Or vouchers. Either way...
ReplyDeleteThanks Kirsti. I know, what's even WITH that! I'm not hard to buy for, buy me books damn it!
DeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY! May your day be filled with lots and lots of books. If there are no books, then it is not your birthday!
ReplyDeleteI think it's lovely of the publishers to celebrate in your un-age birthday (this birthday is just for fun times). And surprises are epic. Surprise books are even MORE epic.
As for the perfect birthday present ... a house that has no walls. In place of the walls are bookshelves. And in the bookshelves are all the books I've ever wanted, and will ever want (they're magical, obviously).
Now go celebrate being fabulous! <3
Thanks Chiara.
DeleteIt was, they were all so lovely and generous and what would a non birthday be without presents?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
ReplyDeleteSo long as you feel young, life is golden, right? :D!
Thanks Sophia. Even those days when I'm feeling old, life is still amazing. I just take off those cranky pants and remember how awesome it is. Of course, I put another pair of pants back on, because at my age, that's just gross.
DeleteHappy birthday!
ReplyDelete*throws lots of sparkles and glitter and cake at you* HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY BEAR <3 <3 Of course you're not getting older, your fabulousness keeps you young forever! *nods* That's how it works right? I hope you have the most brilliant day, filled with lots of presents, books and everything you love. You deserve all the best!
ReplyDeleteThank you for celebrating with us Aussie booknerds as well <3<3
My ultimate present would be a trip around the world :D
Thanks Joy!
DeleteI had a fantastic day. Started the day with a sleep in, a massage, then spent the day in the garden with hubby, mostly watching him work. Followed by take away then a stroll through Bunnings. That's how you celebrate when you get to my age. But I loved it.
WELL. HAPPY UNBIRTHDAY KELLY. HA. I think that works in that case. BUT SERIOUSLY. I would bake you a cake if I could hahaha. And I will spread the word of your giveaway even though I'm not Aussie :D
ReplyDeleteThanks poppet.
DeleteI need cake and willing to wait while you learn to bake.
But tick tock, not getting any younger here.
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! WHOOOOOOooooooooOOOOOOOooooooo!!!!!!!!!! I wish there were such things as insta travel apparating cakes so I COULD SEND YOU A BIG CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH RAINBOW SPRINKLES!!!! ^_^ and wow you sure have a lot of books to giveaway. I feel like it should be the other way around.... don't the birthday people usually get the presents? XD Hope you have a lovely day and a nice dinner and enjoy it with the peeps you love!! :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteI LOVE SPRINKLES! SPRINKLES!
DeleteThey totally do Renee, but see, if you guys get all the books, then I don't age. I have it on good authority that that's how it works.
oh I didn't answer the question properly :( My ultimate birthday present would probably be... enough money for me to have my book published by a BIG publishing company!!! ^_^ Or maybe a violin.... I'm torn. XD
ReplyDeleteOoh, you'll have to choose one or the other. I'd go the publishing contract, then when you make your first million, you can buy a violin factory and have all the violin's you want!
DeleteHappy Birthday Kelly.
ReplyDeleteThank you for help in bring the Aussie blogging community together and my ultimate birthday present would be a free lifetime pass to my local bookstore. Let face it as we all want books for our birthday
Thanks Tash.
DeleteIt truly is. That lifetime pass would need to entitle us to all the free books we want though. Better still, just lock us in there overnight and we can browse my candlelight.
Happy Birthday! It's okay I'll tell everyone you're 34 hehehe. Hope you have a great day, thank you for always supporting my blog and hosting this amazing giveaway! Don't focus on the number, just focus on the cake >:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Shan. It's probably better if I tell everyone I'm thirty instead. Sounds so much more youthful.
DeleteWOOO! Happy Birthday, Kelly!! *throws cake* uh I mean, *carefully hands over cake*. Wouldn't want to get you too dirty on your bday :P
ReplyDeleteUltimate present....a lifetime supply of books? Or an unlimited, reusable voucher that I can use to buy anything I want. You never said we couldn't be greedy haha ;)
Thanks Nara. And throw all the cake you like, I'll just stand here with my mouth open. Some of it is bound to make it into my cake hole.
DeleteSee what I did there?
Happy Birthday Kelly!
ReplyDeleteThanks Keely.
DeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY THIS IS A LOVELY AGE :D :D :D :D :D :D Lol young at heart still right???? :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Emily and totally. You're only as old as you feel, or the person you're feeling.
DeleteEeeee, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, you fabulous, lovely being! *throws glitter, food, and books in the air and directs them towards you* Hehehe. YAY.
ReplyDeleteYOU MUST SHARE CAKE.
Thanks Naban. So far based on these comments, I'm covered in cake, glitter and books.
DeleteHappy Happy Happy Birthday you crazy spring chicken. Hope you have a wonderful day filled with books and yummy birthday cake
ReplyDeleteMy ultimate birthday present would be personal library where every book I want magically appears
Thanks Carolyn. Oh, spring chicken! If only!
DeleteWouldn't that be awesome. Or a butler in your magical library. All you'd need to do is call Giles, and he'd bring the magically appearing books to you in your lush chair, along with a stiff drink of course.
This is my final spam birthday post!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY (once again, I've lost count how many times I've said it to you today). You better have gotten cake tonight!
And I'm sure you've gotten younger, remember you are more sappy which equals turning young. You're like Benjamin Button, only waaaay better.
I think my ultimate birthday present was revealed today (as you know from numerous fangirling posts and caps lock convos) <3 Stay Young!
Thanks Gina.
DeleteYES! I'm Benjamina Button, the chick version. What a birthday present that would be, Sarah J Maas sitting in your loungeroom, writing her next Throne of Glass right in front of you. Of course you'd just HAVE to invite me over as well.
AHHHH HAPPY BIRTHDAY <33333
ReplyDeleteYou're turning a year younger? You're offering up amazing books? WHY AREN'T ALL BIRTHDAYS ALWAYS THIS AWESOME??
Thanks Lily. I am. I officially don't age anymore. I call it the fifth anniversary of my thirtieth birthday. It confuses people too, which is always a bonus.
DeleteOHHH YOU OLD THING, YOU, KELLY. *flails and smushes cake in your hair* Also: HAPPIEST OF HAPPY BIRTHDAYS, EVEN IF YOU ARE ANCIENT! When you need help hobbling across the road on your walking cane, on scout's honour, I will assist.
ReplyDeleteCheeky little youngster. Just wait until you get to my age, with that grey hair starting to show. You even start to get that old man groan when you get up and down off the couch.
DeleteI've made myself even more depressed now. Luckily I stocked up on chocolate, I knew it would come in handy this week.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Damn, that's an amazing giveaway. I wish I lived in Australia. You sound so much younger than tirthy-five, by the way. ^^ Good luck to everyone on this giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lola, and thank you.
DeleteHappy birthday honey bunch! I hope that you enjoy your year of being younger :) And thank you for the giveaway xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks hooters. I am! This aging in reverse is wonderful, any day now I'm expecting my bottom to firm right up and my boobs to go back to being perky. Yep... Any day now...
DeleteAny... Day... Now...
Hey Kelly, Happy Birthday! Thanks for hosting such an awesome giveaway! My perfect Birthday Present would be a book contract (what? I'm being honest!) That, or an Amazon Kindle gift card to buy more books! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks poppet. I'd go the book contract, once you have that and make money from your book sales, you can buy as many Amazon giftcards as you want. Maybe even purchase Amazon itself!
DeleteHAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! Okay, so I'm a day late--sorry about that! But here's to celebrating being another year younger. ;) Hope you ate lots of cake and was spoiled! :) :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kara. No cake, but enough junk food to last a lifetime. Luckily I've been working it off in the garden.
DeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY!i wish you many more books in the future! The ultimate birthday gift: Belle's library from Beauty and The Beast! I've wanted it ever since I was a kid! The Beast sure knows how to win us booknerds over...
ReplyDeleteThanks poppet. Wouldn't that be awesome! I might ask for that one next year too.
DeleteHappy belated birthday Kelly, now officially wishing you that on your blog! Your giveaway is super epic, and to be honest, *whispers* I'm only in it for the tote bag. Ultimate birthday gift: Holiday away!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeann, and I don't blame you, the tote is INCREDIBLE! It's one of those money can't buy prizes. Good luck with the giveaway!
DeleteBelated happy birthday! Ultimate birthday gift would be books! Or a trip around the world with books! Daaamn, 5 kg of books, throne of glass, I'm drooling.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen. Good luck with the giveaway and thanks for entering.
DeleteI FINALLY MADE IT ONTO BLOGGING STUFF AND WEELLL HAPPPPPPY BIRTHDAAAAAAAAAAAYYY xxxx20000000000. Here's to lots of wine, books and massages. And many more years of happily gardening hahaha <333
ReplyDeleteThanks poppet. Not being a wine drinker, or a drinker at all actually, I'll drink a chocolate milk to that then.
DeleteMy ultimate birthday gift would be all 80 titles of the new Little Black Classic Penguin Books. Nice to read you are NOT turning 35, I skipped that age as well, hope you had/have a wonderful day x
ReplyDeleteI did thanks Rosie, and good luck with the giveaway!
DeleteHappy Birthday! Since I'm turning 40 something this year, 35 seems young to me! What I'd like for my next birthday - an addition to my house to create my own library in!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY! This is definitely the only way I know of to cancel out ageing. You have certainly got it right there.
ReplyDeleteMy all time favourite birthday gift... well, I think it'll be exciting to try and go through it all, but a publishing deal! That's be rather nice. xx
Happy Birthday! What a fantastic way to celebrate! :) Hope the day brought plenty of new reads! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I hope the day brought you plenty of new books! :)
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU AGAIN, KELS!! Ultimate birthday gift? Money, lots of it ;)
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEL! <3 I hope your day was lovely. The ULTIMATE birthday gift for me would probably have to be to have my backpacking trip around Europe paid for...so I don't need to save up. :P Hey, a girl can dream, right?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I missed this! Happy Birthday. I hope you had a great day and got lots of books. Thanks so much for the massive giveaway, and thanks to the publishers for providing them!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I hope you had a most wonderful day! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's my birthday in a week actually, and considering I'm going to Europe in may, I should say money... but I'd really like a new camera lens for my Nikon baby. :)
just a holiday!
ReplyDeleteHappy cake day! (Look, you may not like the idea of getting older, but you have to like cake, right?)
ReplyDeleteMy ideal birthday present... hmm, would "my own personal Beauty & the Beast-style library" count as a birthday present?
Happy Birthday! I'm sorry I'm a little slow. I hope you had a wonderful day and your family spoilt you rotten!
ReplyDeleteMy ideal birthday present would be a road trip with friends down the coast followed by and evening of pub crawling!
